Work with me

HELLO

I’m Briar (rhymes with fire), a freelance graphic designer based in Perth. With over 6 years’ experience across State and Local Government organisations as well as the private sector, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects — from an award‑winning digital mapping initiative to corporate strategy documents, high‑profile advertising campaigns, and community engagement materials.

I love working on projects that have a positive social impact. It is the best feeling seeing something I’ve worked on out and about, watching people engage with it and knowing I helped to shape some small part of my community.

I am deeply passionate about accessible design – making sure people with different abilities can access information just as easily as others. I have completed comprehensive accessibility training and am a fierce advocate for accessible design practices. It’s one more way I can have a positive impact on my community, through design.

I feel so lucky to be doing what I love! It’s something I ‘get to do’ not something I ‘have to do’ and that’s really special.

MY PROCESS

1.

Initial consultation (30-45min)

Free of charge and no obligation. This is the part where you do a lot of the talking and I do a lot of the listening and note-taking. Tell me everything about your business and the project you want to do. This will inform my quote for you - that's right, each quote is uniquely tailored to YOU, so there's no paying for things you don't need.

2.

Quoting and deposit

I take all of the juicy information you gave me in the initial consultation and tailor a quote for you. Quotes are valid for up to a month, so you can ruminate over whether it's the right time for you. When you decide to go ahead, just accept the quote and we're off! Depending on your project, you may need to pay a small non-refundable deposit upon acceptance of your quote

3.

Gathering information

We iron out any details we didn't get to in the initial consultation. Depending on the timeline and complexity of the project I'll go and do some research, looking into what your competitors are doing. We'll talk about your deadline and any printing requirements.

4.

Design time

I get into my zone and I do the designing with all the information we've gathered on-hand to refer to. The creative process can vary depending on the nature of the project, but usually, when all the bits and pieces of your project are ready for your feedback, I will send them through for you. I try not to send lots of little pieces because it gets confusing.

5.

Refinement and payment

Your feedback is super essential! We can tweak things here and there to make sure everything aligns with your vision. When it's looking slick and you have approved the final designs, then it's time to settle the bill.

6.

Delivery

Once payment has been received, I'll send you through your final files in all the right formats, ready for you to distribute to your waiting fanbase.
